NAIROBI (KEN): Four-time Boston Marathon winner as well as 2004 and 2008 Olympic silver medalist Catherine Ndereba said for The Daily Nation she is fit and ready to participate in the forthcoming Kenya Prisons CC Championships. Ndereba was set back with multiple injuries but is now back at about 65 miles a week.
ACCRA (GHA): The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has assured the general public that it will participate in the upcoming World championships in Daegu since it retains its status with the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF). It said despite the misinformation making the rounds in the aftermath of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) suspension by the International Olympic Committee, the GAA received favourable communication from the Secretary-General of the IAAF, Mr Pieere Weiss after the IOC ban. Ghana is also welcome to participate in the All-Africa Games in September as long as the GAA is in good standing with the IAAF. Informs Ghana business news.
