KINGSTON (JAM): General Manager of Independence Park Limited, Major Desmon Brown said for TrackAlerts about questions concerning the reparation works at National Stadium in Kingston that an engineer from Germany was scheduled to be in the island during the week as part of the process and a new running track should be in place by mid-February. This revelation raises the question as to whether the plan is for a new track or merely repairs as was suggested earlier.
MARA (KEN): Winners in this year’s Masai Mara International Marathon will earn more after organisers of the event increased prize money by 400 percent. Top runners in the main 21km race for men and women will pocket Sh250,000 each (3000 USD), up from Sh50,000 (650 USD) champions pocketed in the inaugural event last year. The marathon is scheduled for November 20 at Olchoro Oiruwua Wildlife Conservancy of Mara. The top 10 finishers in men and women’s races will get awards. Kenyan media are informing.
