MONTE CARLO (MON): Well respected Japan´s athletics writer and journalist Atsushi Hoshino (84) will be this year’s recipient of the IAAF World Journalist Award. The award will be presented in Monaco this Sunday (21) by IAAF President Lamine Diack. The IAAF World Journalist Award, which was created on the recommendation of the IAAF Press Commission that the IAAF should mark outstanding lifetime contributions in the field of athletics journalism, was inaugurated last year with the honouring of the career of Germany’s Gustav Schwenk. Atsushi Hoshino is one of the key members of ATFS and served as Press Chief at IAAF World Championships held in Japan 1991 in Tokyo and 2007 in Osaka.
OSLO (NOR): Norwegian television and EBU member NRK secured the television rights for the World Championships 2011 in Daegu and 2013 in Moscow. Norwegian media are informing. IAAF points out that in Scandinavia another public broadcaster YLE of Finland was secured already before along with Sweden´s combination (SVT/TV4).
