LONDON (GBR): Neale Coleman, the director of the London 2012 coordination at the Greater London Authority (GLA) claimed London will have to increase the amount of money it spends on bidding for the 2017 World Athletics Championships to compete against its closest rival, Doha. Coleman admitted during a hearing at the London Assembly that England had spent too much money on its disastrous bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup and costs needed to be monitored more closely in the future, but also added that the cost if the bid depends on the rivals its facing according to Insidethegames.
BEIJING (CHN): Chinese 110m star hurdler Liu Xiang revealed that he was trying a new start technique to boost his winning chance in the future. Xiang is now learning a 7 step approach to the first hurdle and will start applying the new technique as soon as the IAAF Diamond League Shanghai stop in May.
