LONDON (GBR): Up to 50 cities are capable of hosting the proposed European Games when it is possibly launched in 2015 reports Insidethegames. A report on the event, which would bring Europe into line with the other continents who already stage their own Games, has been undertaken by Deloitte and was presented at the European Olympic Committees (EOC) at its General Assembly in Sochi this week. On April 12th the NOC’s of European countries will decide whether to proceed with the Games which could be launched in 2015. In the plan are 15 or 16 sports.

RIYADH (KSA): Saudi Arabia has agreed to let female athletes join their all-male delegation to the 2012 Olympics in a bid to block threats to bar them from the games if they didn’t let women participate. The move came after a warning last year by Anita DeFrantz , who heads the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Women and Sports Commission, that any country that didn’t allow female athletes to compete would be barred from the global competition reports gantdaily.com.

WARSZAWA (POL): Poland´s 800 m runner Anna Rostkowska gave birth to a daughter recently. Little Olga was born on October 29 (3.12 kg and 54 cm) and is together with mother in good condition. Father Piotr Rostkowski is not only her husband but also the coach and former national record holder at 1500 m 3:35.62 in 1997. The 31 years old
Rostkowska was Beijing 2008 and Berlin 2009 semifinalist and clocked 1:58.72 life-time best as 4th at Paris DL meet in 2008. She plans returning to training already in December.

LAUSANNE (SUI): European Athletics opened the vote for the European Athlete of the Month Award for October. The road running season kicked off in earnest in October with hundreds of thousands of Europeans taking part in many of the major city marathons taking place throughout the world. Although African runners have a clear dominance on the men's side, European women had their fair share of success. European Athletics is pleased to announce that athletes from 11 countries have been nominated for the award. The voting will close on Monday 21 November.

BRUSSELS (BEL): European 3000 m and 5000 m record holder Mohammed Mourhit is thinking about a comeback into the sport. Mourhit, a Morrocan born athlete competing for Belgium, was highly accomplished at the end of the nineties but left the sport after a positive doping result at the World half marathon championships in Brussels in 2002. The now 41-year old Mourhit is aiming for the London Olympic Games according to Belgian Media. He should run a cross country competition later in November.

INDIANAPOLIS (USA): USA Track & Field announced Tuesday the selection of all-time track and field greats Gail Devers, Maurice Greene, Vince Matthews, and Clarence Demar, along with standout coach Bob Timmons, into the National Track & Field Hall of Fame. The five will be inducted into the National Track & Field Hall of Fame, along with 2010 Hall selection Craig Virgin, on Saturday evening, December 3, at the Jesse Owens Hall of Fame Banquet, which will be held in conjunction with 2011 USATF Annual Meeting in St. Louis.
