ZOETERMEER (NED, Jan 15): Patrick van Luijk qualified to European Indoors with 6.67 in the heats and 6.66 in the finals of 60 m here. With 6.66 he also equalled his life-time best from 2009.
WELLINGTON (NZL, Jan 15): At World Cross Country Championships Trial Daniel Wallis won the senior 12 km in 39:29. Wallis led the whole way, in the warm breezy conditions, beating Adam Carlson by 14 seconds. Carlson passed James Coubrough on the final lap (39:53 as third). Penny Peskett won the women’s 8km in 28:13.
