BEDFORD (GBR, May 1): Second day of Universities Championships saw World Junior champion Sophie Hitchon twice broke the british hammer record throwing 68.97 in round 2 and 69.43 in round 5. The previous mark of 68.93 was set by Lorraine Shaw in 2003. Talented Jack Green improved his day old life-time best in the 400 m Hurdles to 49.55 in his semi final. James Campbell threw 80.18 in the Javelin qualifying and Matthew Hunt improved from 71.90 to 76.77, both athletes coached by former World bronze medalist Mick Hill.
