UTRECHT (NED): Kenyan William Kipchumba has been announced as the favorite for this year‘s Jaarbeurs Utrecht Marathon on April 5th. Kipchumba was the surprise winner of last year‘s edition with a 2:09:40 course record and returns this year with the aim of breaking that time. Kipchumba‘s main rivals will be compatriots Sammy Chumba and Mariko Kiplagat as well as Tanzanian former world junior cross country champion Adrea Sambu Sipe who has a personal best of 2:09:52. Ethiopian Shumi Gerbaba Eticha will make his debut in the marathon, based on his half marathon time (1:00:43) he could also run a 2:10 marathon.
