BIRMINGHAM (GBR): Birmingham has failed to bid for the European championships in 2016 even though they are redesigning their stadium to host major events in the future. ‘We have already said we will host an IAAF Samsung Diamond League event in July next yearand we are also hosting the US track and field team in their preparations for the 2012 Games. So we are not saying a definite no to the Europeans – but there are simply no plans to bid as we speak.” Insidethegames reports.
JOHANNESBURG (RSA): Changes have been made to the 2010/11 South African track season. ASA included two inter-provincial championships in the six-event Yellow Pages Series.
