KINGSTON (JAM): Jamaica’s Senior Championships to select this summer Daegu IAAF World Championships team will be held over four days, a first in the country’s history. Also, the country’s 100m male sprinters, apart from the latest 25 or those with times of 10.30 or faster, will have to run four rounds. If the total entries do not exceed 32 athletes, the contest will start at the quarterfinal stage (three rounds). In the women’s section, in the event that there are 24 or less entries, there will be two rounds, semifinals and finals. However, they will have to go four rounds if the entries exceed found rounds. The trials, for which entries will be closed on June 14 at 3p.m, will be held on June 23-26. The teams to make this year are CAC Senior Championships (July 15-17) in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico; 13th IAAF World Championships (August 27 to September 4) and the XVI Pan Am Games (October 23-30) in Guadalajara, Mexico.

EUGENE (USA): Latest changes in the start list of Pre Classic were that multi-eventer Ashton Eaton will compete not only in the 110 m hurdles race but also in long jump. Eaton plans his first decathlon of the year for US Championships. No longer in the list US pole vault record holder Jenn Suhr.
