AMSTERDAM (NED) : The Dutch athletics association and the city of Amsterdam confirmed they will bid for the 2016 European Athletics Championships as they are getting closer to financially securing the bid. In total 19 million euro is needed, urging the city of Amsterdam to put aside 5,9 million euro instead of the 4,2 million euro they previously promised.

NEW YORK (USA): Talking to Universal Sports Allyson Felix admitted she is not yet giving up on the double at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Although Felix failed the double at this year’s World Championships Felix believes she has learned from the experience and could do better next year. “I’m not quite ready to give it up yet. I’m excited for the possibility of being able to do better with it off what we’ve learned. We’ll make a decision much later on but I feel much more encouraged than I was at that moment. I’m not ready to give it up yet. “ Felix was quoted.
