FRIDAY RESULTS

WALNUT (USA): US 10 000 m record holder Chris Solinsky improved his 1500 m best to excellent 3:35.89 during MtSAC Relays and was second in the race won by Russell Brown who clocked world leading 3:35.70. Third Miles Batty 3:36.25. Aaron Braun won the 5000 m in solid 13:27.01 beating Jorge Torres 13:27.58 and Briton Andy Vernon who improved to 13:27.85. US 10k record holder and fresh World CC medalist Shalane Flanagan won the 1500 m in 4:11.67. Molly Huddle achieved 15:10.63 world leader in the 5000 m with steeple record holder Jennifer Simpson beeing second timed with 15:11.49. Third Liz Maloy improved to 15:19.87 and still was ahead miler Christin Wurth-Thomas 15:21.75 personal best. Berlin javelin finalist Sean Furey improved to 81.62.


OTHER NEWS

LONDON (GBR): British runner Jo Pavey after a couple of false starts because of illness and injury will finally make her long awaited marathon debut on Sunday. The former track star who planned to reignite her career by switching to the endurance event last year, admitted she will be nervous when lining up on the start line at the Virgin London Marathon. The 37-year-old now a veteran - as is world record holder Paula Radcliffe and reigning Olympic champion Constantina Dita - is determined to achieve the UK Olympic qualifying standard of two hours 31 minutes for the 2012 London Games.
