SERBIA: Shot putter Milan Jotanovic and walker Nenad Filipovic have been added into the Serbian team for Daegu.

SOUTH AFRICA: World champion at 800 m Caster Semenya is ready to defend her title in South Korea, according to her communications team. The recent media reports that Caster Semenya is not ready to defend her world 800m title are untrue. Semenya remains disciplined, focused and excited about representing South Africa at the IAAF World Championship in South Korea. In true championship style, she has embarked upon a stringent training programme in preparation for the world event.


OTHER NEWS


LONDON (GBR): UK Athletics confirmed it will bid to host the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships at the Olympic Stadium in London with the full backing of the UK Government and Mayor of London. The bid will be led by Lord Sebastian Coe and supported by a coalition from UKA, DCMS, UK Sport and London & Partners , the Mayor of London's official promotional agency. Coe will personally submit the bid at this year’s IAAF World Athletics Championships in Daegu and a decision is expected on 11th November 2011.
