FORTALEZA (BRA): Brazilian meetings circuit starts on Sunday May 16 in Fortaleza with athletes from 30 countries. Jamaican sprinter Lerone Clarke, former olympic medalist Bernard Williams of USA will clash in sprint with home stars Vicente Lenilson, Sandro Viana and Jose Carlos Moreira. Excellent men hammer field composed of Belarus Yuriy Shayunov, Latvian Igors Sokolovs and Ukrainian Artem Rubanko. More top names are Andrew Hinds of Barbados for 100 m, US Greg Nixon for 400 m, Trinidad´s Cleopatra Borel-Brown for shot put.
GOTZIS (AUT): More names announced for top multi events meet of the year, the hypo meeting in Gotzis (May 29 and 30). Best Russians Aleksey Drozdov and Vasiliy Kharlamov, best Estonians Mikk Pahapill and Andres Raja. Also coming is fresh winner from Desenzano US athlete Jake Arnold. In women heptathlon more Russian athletes are Desenzano winner Marina Goncharova and Nadezhda Sergeyeva. From USA Berlin participant Diana Pickler with Bettie Wade.
