MINNEAPOLIS (USA): Anna Pierce won the USA road mile championships in 4:33.9. Sarah Bowman was runner-up in 4:34.9, while Christin Wurth-Thomas was third in 4:36.3. David Torrence won the men’s race for the second year in a row in 4:05.4, Dan Huling took second in 4:05.4.
ATHENS (GRE): Periklis Iakovakis of Greece wants to defend his European title in 400m hurldes in Barcelona.
