SOSNOWIEC (POL, May 2): National 10 000 m champions were Angiezska Ciolek (33:41.00) and steeple specialist Tomasz Szymkowiak (28:41.90). Italian guest Cosimo Caliandro was the winner (28:40.94).

ROAD

BURGOS (ESP, May 1): Top Spanish runners competed in the 3rd road mile here. Nuria Fernandez was the best woman in 4:56. In men´s race Manuel Olmedo won after 4:10 one second ahead of Juan Carlos Higuero (4:11) and Alvaro Rodriguez (4:12). World indoor medalist Sergio Sanchez was 6th (4:17).
