SAN FRANCISCO (USA): American long distance athlete Chris Lukezic has accepted a two year suspension after refusing to submit a sample collection confirms the USADA. Lukezic had not filed a written statement he had retired from competition and therefore still could be tested. The suspension began on August 31st 2010. Lukezic had retired from competing as an athlete.

PARIS (FRA): French Junior decathlete Kevin Mayer has been named French youth athlete of the summer. Mayer won the decathlon title at the world junior championships breaking the French record in the process. The French junior decathlon record stood on the name of world 110H champion Ladji Doucouré was broken by Mayer on two occasions.
