LONDON (GBR): British athlete Jeannette Kwakye will end the season and will not take part in the Commonwealth Games in India. Kwakye has been suffering with injuries since placing sixth in the Beijing Olympics 100m final. The IAAF World championships in Daegu will be her next goal writes morethanthegames.
MOSCOW (RUS): Russia will send 38 athletes from 23 regions to IAAF World Junior Championships in Canada. They are 18 boys and 20 girls. Medal hopes are Danil Tsyplakov in high jump, Aleksey Fedorov in triple jump and both walkers Valeriy Filipchuk and Pyotr Bogatyrev. On the girls side Gulshat Fazlitdinova in the 3000 and 5000 m races, Vera Rudakova in the 400 m hurdles, walker Anna Lukyanova and Mariya Lebedeva in the 400 m and in the 4x400 m.
