KABARNET (KEN, Dec 20): Kenyan Torino and Frankfurt marathon winner Agnes Kiprop defended her title at 5th Baringo Safaricom Half-Marathon race. She won the 15 km in 51:09 ahead of Sharon Cherop (52:01). Little-known Eric Ndiema, broke away at the nine-kilometer mark to win in 1:02:14 ahead quality runners among them this year’s Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon champion Moses Kigen, writes East Standard. Two upcoming runners, Yusuf Sungoka (1:02:16) and Vincent Kiplagat (1:02:18) came in second and third.
LUGO (ESP, Dec 20): Kenyan Nicholas Korir won the 8th Solidaria Lugo Monumental 10 km road race (29:21).
