EL PASO: Altitude of El Paso at UTEP Invitational helped to world leading times in sprints. Netherland Antilles olympic finalist Churandy Martina clocked 2010 best in the 100 m 10.03 (+1.6) beating US Ryan Bailey (10.09), another sprinter from NA Brian Mariano (10.23, PB) a Latvian Ronalds Arajs (10.31 also a life-time best). In the 200 m then Ryan Bailey changed the order and posted 20.40 (+1.0) seasonal lead over Martina (20.48). Another world lead was a big possibility in women´s 100 m as Nigerian Blessing Okagbare is in great shape, but a timing malfunction was the reason that her winning time was a hand-timed 10.7 (+1.3). It is second best ever hand-timed women 100 m, faster was only Zhanna Block of Ukraine having 10.6 in 1997. Jumps were mostly aided by too strong wind. Jeremy Hicks in long jump (820, +3.2), Kenta Bell in triple jump (16.85, +3.3) and Funmi Jimoh in long jump (672, +3.1). Ola Sesay who represents Sierra Leone was lucky as second with 667 with only +0.2 wind support.
