HEADLINES

TAMGHO LEAPS TO 17.98

MEN

100 m: Caribbeans dominated, Richard Thompson 9.89, Yohan Blake 9.91, Daniel Bailey 9.92, but unfortunately wind-aided +2.4. Fourth best US surprisingly Trell Kimmons (9.92). In B race Rae Edwards impressive 10.00 (+1.4) ahead of Trinidad´s Keston Bledman (10.01, PB).

800 m: World Champ Mbulaeni Mulaudzi gave the fans new meet record with clear win 1:44.38 ahead of Nick Symmonds (1:45.05). Oly champ at 1500 m Asbel Kiprop only 6th (1:47.12).

1500 m: In this non Diamond Race event Nicholas Kemboi another meet record (3:33.29) with world indoor champion Deresse Mekonen second (3:33.85) and Leo Manzano third 3:33.92. Bernard Lagat only fifth 3:34.36.

Steeple: Paul Kipsiele Koech had a nice solo race after 8:10.43. Patrick Langat who does not want be longer a pacemaker was second (8:15.52) and olympic winner Brimin Kipruto third (8:18.92).

OTHER RESULTS

LEIDEN (NED, Jun 12): Good throwing results in Leiden at the 3rd leg of the Dutch „Spar baancircuit“. Melissa Boekelmans managed 18.17 in the shot put and was awarded with the golden spike for best performance of the meeting. Erik Cadee threw a good 64.29 in the discus. In the sprints junior Dafne Schippers won the 100m in 11.56, other junior Jamile Samuel clocked in the 200m 23.44. US Natalie Knight was faster (23.34, +1.3). Another US athlete Fredrick Townsend took the win in the 110H (13.66) ahead of Dutch Gregory Sedoc (13.68, faster in heats 13.63). Briton Robbie Grabatz managed 226 and a new meeting record in the high jump. Briton Mark Christie won the 3000 m in 7:55.05.


LISBOA (POR, Jun 12): First day of Portugal Club Championships saw reigning European Champion Francis Obikwelu winning the 100 m in fast 10.24 (-0.2). Vera Santos clocked national 3000 m walk record in 12:17.59 what is also a world lead. Marco Fortes achieved 20.24 in the shot put. Lithuanian Lina Grincikaite won the 100 m in 11.43 (+1.9). Latvian Ineta Radevica leaped to windy 14.40 (+2.4) in the triple jump (legal 13.89, +1.4).
