DOHA (QAT): Activities from preparations of World Indoor Championships. International Athletics Refereeing course was held. The seven-day course was organized in cooperation with IAAF, with participation of 20 local Qataris including men and women referees. The organizing committee and Gulf Warehousing Company signed an agreement confirming Qatar’s largest integrated logistics service provider as a national supplier of the event. Gulf Warehousing Company, will provide the WIC Organizing Committee with land transport and overseas freight clearance services as well as warehousing facilities to support the logistics requirements for the championships. Another recently signed agreement confirmed q.media and q.media Decaux as the latest National Partner to Doha 2010. The WIC organizing committee and q.media will work together to amplify marketing activities.
PRAHA (CZE): The oldest special high jump meeting with music in the world, the “Novinarska latka” (Journalists crossbar), will have its 31st edition on Thursday at one of Prague´s Shopping Centres (Metropole Zlicin). It started in 1969 with live-band music support and later was also called Jan Popper Memorial. After break 1996-2006 the event returned with new management and new place. Since then only men competition is held and again this year the main star is best Czech jumper Jaroslav Baba who lost on Tuesday in Brno only to Russian Aleksey Dmitrik. Also jumping his big rival from Athens Olympics Jamie Nieto of USA, Ukrainian 234 jumper Viktor Shapoval, Spanish number one Javier Bermejo, Dutch world finalist Martijn Nuijens, Italian Giulio Ciotti and Ukrainian 231 this year Dmytro Demyanyuk.
