LUXEMBOURG (LUX, Jan 16): The 8th annual Dussmann International Indoor meeting in Luxembourg was highlighted by several world indoor qualifying performances and meeting records. Belgian Elisabeth Davin managed a superb 8.09 on the 60 m hurdles, earning her a spot in the Belgian team for the IAAF World Indoor Championships. It was also new event best. The same, world standards and event bests for both female Czech winners Lenka Masna in 2:01.85 at 800 m and Jirina Ptacnikova with 440 in pole vault (she had good tries at her would-be PB 456). On the men side Austrian Ryan Moseley earned his place for Doha by winning the 60m in 6.68. German co-favorite Christian Blum after solid heat 6.73 false started the finals. The 60 m hurdles race was won by German Helge Schwarzer in 7.73 (he was faster in heats with 7.69). Another meet record for Belgian Kevin Rans in pole vault (556) and Czech 400 m winner Pavel Jiran (47.36).
CHELYABINSK (RUS, Jan 16): Also fast 1500 m races at Ural Championships. 800 m European indoor gold medalist Mariya Savinova achieved 4:08.2 win. Last 500 m as Sergey Tikhonov is writing were timed at 1:19 what is corresponding with sub 4 minutes pace. Sergey Usoltsev was the best in men´s 1500 m in 3:43.4 PB.
